Sustainability Policy
Our commitment to responsible material innovation
Our Position
ORVA exists because we believe commercial interiors can be beautiful without environmental compromise. Every product we develop starts from the same principle: plant-based materials should perform as well as — or better than — the conventional alternatives they replace.
Material Integrity
ORVA material is 100% plant-based and free from PU (polyurethane), plastic, and rubber. We do not blend synthetic components into our material to achieve performance metrics. Our leather-like surface is derived entirely from plant sources, delivering the tactile quality and visual depth expected in luxury hospitality environments.
Our production process uses approximately two-thirds less water than conventional leather tanning — a significant reduction in one of the material industry's most resource-intensive processes.
Supply Chain Transparency
We maintain visibility across our supply chain, from raw material sourcing to finished product. Our manufacturing partners are selected based on their environmental standards, worker welfare practices, and ability to meet our material specifications without compromise.
Product Lifecycle
ORVA products are designed for durability in high-traffic commercial environments. Longevity is itself a sustainability strategy — products that last longer generate less waste. We design for the replacement cycles of hospitality, retail, and marine environments, ensuring our products maintain their appearance and performance throughout their intended service life.
Certifications & Standards
ORVA material carries USDA BioPreferred certification, confirming its bio-based content through independent testing. We continuously evaluate additional certifications and standards as the plant-based material sector evolves.
Packaging & Distribution
We minimise packaging materials where possible and prioritise recyclable or biodegradable packaging for product shipments. Our distribution model is designed to reduce unnecessary freight through consolidated shipments and regional fulfilment.
Continuous Improvement
Sustainability is not a fixed destination. We regularly review our processes, materials, and supply chain to identify opportunities for improvement. We are committed to honest reporting of our environmental impact and will update this policy as our practices evolve.
